Mission House offers six private rooms, each with a private bathroom and outside entrance. Bright common areas and peaceful gardens provide comfortable spaces where patients and loved ones can spend time together.

Family support is central to care at Mission House. Loved ones are encouraged to visit and spend time together, with comfortable spaces designed to make those moments feel as natural, private, and meaningful as possible.

Supporting Family Caregivers

When caregivers need additional help, Mission House can provide short-term respite stays. Our team takes responsibility for the patient’s around-the-clock care, giving loved ones an opportunity to rest knowing they are in compassionate hands.

Mission Hospice continues to support families as needs change and after a loved one dies. Grief counseling, groups, workshops, and other resources help loved ones find support and connection through loss.

Provide companionship and additional support for patients and families while helping make Mission House a welcoming and caring environment.

Supports patients and loved ones through anticipatory grief and provides ongoing resources and support for families following a death.

What is Mission House?

Mission House is Mission Hospice’s six-bed hospice house in Redwood City. It provides professional, 24-hour hospice care and family support in a peaceful, homelike environment for patients who need more intensive care than can be provided at home.

Mission House is designed for hospice patients at the end of life who need intensive, around-the-clock symptom management that cannot be provided at home. Short-term stays may also be available when a family caregiver needs respite.

Mission House is located in Redwood City, California, off Woodside Road. Its central Peninsula location provides patients and families with a comfortable alternative when receiving hospice care at home is not possible.

Every patient’s situation is different. Depending on their needs, patients may stay at Mission House for a few weeks to a few months. Shorter stays may also be available when caregivers need temporary respite.

Yes. Mission House is designed with the whole family in mind. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to visit and spend time with their loved one, with common areas and gardens providing additional places to gather.

Each patient has a private room and bathroom with its own outside entrance. Room and board also includes meals, personal assistance, housekeeping, and other services designed to make the stay as comfortable as possible.

For most patients, the medical portion of hospice care is covered by insurance. Room and board is a separate daily expense. Donations and grants help Mission Hospice support patients who are unable to pay and provide care beyond what insurance reimburses.
