Companionship and Caregiver Support

Spend meaningful time with patients and families by offering companionship, listening, reading, taking a short walk, running an errand, or simply being present. Direct Care volunteers can also provide valuable support and respite for family caregivers.

Mission House Volunteers

Help create a warm, welcoming environment for patients and families at Mission House in Redwood City. Volunteers may spend time with residents, assist staff with meals and other activities, or help care for the house and gardens.

Vigil and End-of-Life Support

Specially trained volunteers can provide a calm, compassionate presence for patients and families during the final stages of life. Additional training is available for volunteers interested in supporting patients through vigils and other end-of-life situations.

Selected volunteers receive role-specific training, orientation, and resources to help them feel confident and prepared.

After onboarding, volunteers are matched with opportunities that fit their skills, interests, and availability.
