Our Organizations
Mission Hospice volunteers are a special kind of people – they are the heart and soul of our care. Each year, Mission Hospice volunteers donate thousands of hours of their time.
There are many ways to volunteer with Mission Hospice. We’ll help you find an opportunity that matches your interests, abilities, comfort level, and availability.
Spend meaningful time with patients and families by offering companionship, listening, reading, taking a short walk, running an errand, or simply being present. Direct Care volunteers can also provide valuable support and respite for family caregivers.
Help create a warm, welcoming environment for patients and families at Mission House in Redwood City. Volunteers may spend time with residents, assist staff with meals and other activities, or help care for the house and gardens.
Specially trained volunteers can provide a calm, compassionate presence for patients and families during the final stages of life. Additional training is available for volunteers interested in supporting patients through vigils and other end-of-life situations.
Volunteers are matched to roles based on community needs and availability. Some opportunities may have a waitlist.
