Laurie Hill, RN, BSN

Grew up: In many places – but I was born in Port of Spain Trinidad. I love island life.

Joined Mission Hospice: May 2016

What led me to hospice work: We lost a parent at a very young age and realized then that so much more could be done for terminal patients and their families. The experience of loss can be passed on for generations.

Mission Hospice in (more than) three words: Genuine – Always striving to do the right thing – Caring

Passions: Illustrating for children, trying a new recipe every week, Welsh Terriers, and container gardens. Also, I collect well-illustrated children’s books.

Reading right now: The New York Times and Jacques Pepin cookbooks

Desert island album: The motion picture soundtrack from Chocolat

Little known fact: I can drive a stick shift

Favorite movie: Without a doubt: The Thomas Crown Affair – both versions

On my bucket list: Staying up all night to watch the northern lights while drinking coffee with friends
