Growing up\, he accompanied his mother on her extensive travels around the world\, while witnessing her lectures and workshops. He was the principal care provider for his mother in the last 9 years of her life\, until her death in 2004. \nKen is the founder and president of the EKR Foundation. DESCRIPTION:Many health care professionals and laypeople equate hope at the end of life with hope for a cure\, and some physicians don’t discuss end-of-life care for fear patients will lose hope. But hospice and palliative care providers can help guide patients and their families to redefine what hope means at the end of life. \nPsychology professor Dr. David B. Feldman\, an expert on the study of hope\, will discuss research and casework to explore how the meaning of hope shifts from cure to quality of life. He will suggest practical ways that professionals can help the people they serve make this important shift. \n1.5 CEUs available for RNs\, LVNs\, CNAs\, LCSWs\, LMFTs for an additional $50.
