"Voices for Hospices" Concert - Saturday, October 9, 7 p.m.

In celebration of hospice care around the world, Mission Hospice & Home Care will host its second annual Voices for Hospices concert. The concert will take place at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, 825 Monte Diablo Ave., San Mateo.

"Luck Be a Lady, Tonight" Fall Gala and Casino Night - Saturday, October 30, 6 p.m.

Mark your calendars now for the Fall Gala, hosted by the Mission Hospice Auxiliary! This elegant 1950s Casino Night Dinner Dance will take place at the Westin Hotel at 1 Old Bayshore Highway, Millbrae. Proceeds will support patients who cannot afford hospice care. Holiday Concert by the Oakland Civic Orchestra - Saturday, Dec. 11, 11:30 a.m.

Please join us for a holiday concert by the Oakland Civic Orchestra, to be held at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center, 600 North Delaware Ave., San Mateo.

Bereavement Support Group

We offer two different drop-in Bereavement Support Groups at the Mission Hospice & Home Care office located at 1670 South Amphlett Blvd., Suite 300, San Mateo: one on Monday night from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, led by Roby Newman, LCSW; and one on Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, led by Cindy Carlson, MD, MFT. New Volunteer Informational Meetings

New volunteer informational meetings will take place on Tuesday, September 14 from 12-1pm or 5:30-6:30pm, and on Tuesday, February 15 from 12-1pm or 5:30-6:30pm.

New Volunteer Training Sessions

Fall training sessions will take place Saturdays from 10am-3pm, October 9, 16, 23 and 30; and two Thursdays from 6-8pm, October 21 and 28. Spring training sessions will take place Saturdays from 10am-3pm, March 5, 12, 19 and 26; and two Thursdays from 6-8pm, March 17 and 24.
